This blog post is very special to me as it marks the release of my very first e-book, Watercolor butterflies made easy. It contains some fun techniques, DIY projects, and worksheets that will help hone your skills to paint watercolor butterflies.
The release of an e-book was one of my goals for last year. Unfortunately, due to lack of confidence, time constraints, and personal problems, it was left unfulfilled. So during the end of last year, when I sat down to write my goals for 2017, this was top-priority. And there is no feeling in the world that explains the happiness I encounter at the moment. More than three months of writing, painting, editing, and five months of research, I have put my heart and soul into it. And I really hope you will agree as well and that this e-book will help you beautifully paint watercolor butterflies.
About WABS – Watercolor Art Book Series
This e-book is part of a series called WABS. This will contain a series of art books that will cover a variety of topics aimed at making your watercolor skills perfect. The first part is the “Watercolor butterflies made easy” e-book. And the next two parts will be released in July and then November tentatively.
Features of “Watercolor butterflies made easy” e-book
1.Wet on wet practice sheet
Before getting to actually learn the butterfly techniques, I thought it would be a good idea to create a warm-up practice sheet. You can practice these on a separate sheet of watercolor paper or print the page provided on watercolor paper up to 300 gsm.
2. Watercolor butterfly techniques
There are six different styles of butterflies that I’ve explained with step by step instructions and photos in the e-book. Each of the butterfly styles is explained using a basic watercolor technique. This will not only help you understand how to paint the butterflies but also where to use a technique to get the desired result.
This is also supported with two worksheets that you can print out on watercolor paper and practice.
The two DIY projects in this e-book will help you broaden your imagination to paint watercolor butterflies. You can incorporate your ideas while following the principle techniques explained earlier.
The projects are both examples of what you can achieve and I’ve also mentioned ideas of what you can attempt to create.
Once you’ve purchased the e-book, you can also optionally join my free group “Learn modern watercolors” on Facebook where you can share ideas and learn all about watercolors.
